Part of what makes credit unions different from other financial institutions is that we’re all financial cooperatives. We are owned by our members which means “one member, one vote.”

Exercise your right as a member-owner of Heartland Credit Union and vote today!

VOTER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Be at least 18 years of age;
  2. Be the primary member (the first name on the account);
  3. Have joined the credit union prior to December 31, 2018.

Please vote for no more than TWO (2) CANDIDATES. Your ballot will be disqualified if you vote for more than two candidates.

Voting closes Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 5 p.m.

Meet the Candidates


 

Jim Dalton

Jim Dalton currently serves as an Associate Director on Heartland Credit Union’s board and a member of the Audit Committee.  As the Fuel Supply Manager for Alliant Energy, he is responsible for the purchasing of coal for Alliant’s coal-fired electric generation stations, accounting for tens of millions of dollars annually.  Jim is a CPA with a Bachelor’s degree from UW- Madison and a Master’s of Business Administration from UW – Milwaukee. He serves as a Director and Treasurer on the Board of Family and Schools Together (FAST) – a non-profit organization that develops and helps implement family engagement programs with schools and communities.

“I am a firm believer that credit unions are the most cost effective financial institutions whose primary purpose is to serve and benefit members. As a member of the Audit Committee and an Associate Director, I have had the privilege to contribute to Heartland’s success. I believe that my diverse background and experience will enable me to help the Board address Heartland’s challenges and to take advantage of beneficial opportunities.”



Marc Jones (Incumbent)

Marc Jones has been a member of Heartland for over 48 years. He has served on its board of directors and numerous committees for the past 18 years. Prior to retiring from AT&T, he also served the Communication Workers of America (CWA) as Union President. In his home community, he has served on the Fitchburg Township Board and the Fitchburg City Council. Marc has owned and operated a family farm since 1973 and owns Jones Construction Company, specializing in building and remodeling, since 1983

Jacob Luginbuhl

Jacob Luginbuhl is from a family of entrepreneurs and has owned his own business for five years.  In addition, he is working to become a Certified Financial Advisor.  Jacob graduated from UW Platteville with a degree in Business and Finance.  Jacob lives in Verona where his family roots go back 100 years and he is committed to helping the community thrives.  As a business owner, he has experience in business operations, budgeting and project management.

“I grew up in the countryside among farmers and worked on job sites all over Southwest Wisconsin.  I understand the residents and people that can benefit from belonging to our credit union.  I, like many, had to borrow money to attend college.  It motivated me to work hard and finish what I started.  Serving on the board will allow me to assist in shaping policy that will directly impact those in the community.  My goal is to help Heartland Credit Union members flourish through education and guidance. I want to give back in a meaningful way and serving on the board will give me the opportunity to do the most good with my unique skill set and work experience.”
